Wholehearted agreement here. As I repelled/repulsed from the hype that I once was as a planter/pastor, I found the contemplative arena of spiritual growth. I thought I had "found it." This led me toward contentment, which sounded spiritual so I embraced "it" & grew complacent & apathetic. I found the stories of people like St. Patrick and St. Brendan reminding me that the call to follow Christ is a call to risky living. what does the horizon hold in store for us in our little community?
and how can i even begin to hear God's direction when i can barely hear myself think...surrounded by all the mess we live in.
